... were fascinating. As the family expanded they needed a bigger place and so they moved... some 10 miles away to "huge" Forcalquier, populaton 7 thousand but with the landscape of gentle hills, old city walls (some dating back to Roman times) small roads and alleys. It even has a movie theater in an old converted church where in one of the evening we saw "Nebraska". More about Forcalquier and the Chwalibogs in future entries.

On...on the way to Pisa we passed the mountains where they have been taking the marble for statues for hundreds and hundreds of years. Michelangelo's David was carved from marble from these mountains.. Imagine the trip.... ( pretty heavy, marble.) Then see the result. Again...a huge wow moment. More photos to be posted...probably tomorrow so check back to this ...

... glamour. All the action was around the Cannes Entertainment Centre, situated in front of the wide beach frontage. This was the first time we had spotted sand and not pebbles for a beach, though I'm not sure if the sand was previously added. I’m thinking – where there is sand, there is surf, and vice versa. Not necessarily so in Europe. It is interesting to note, most people are seeking to just enjoy the sun rather ...

Today the 26 May, I went for "quick" trip to Cannes to see if I could shake hands with Nicole Kidman who just released her new movie called "The Paperboy"at the Cannes Festival.
Sorry I can't give you a photo of her and I because millions of fans where already there just to catch a glimpse of her.
The road following the coast to Cannes is superb and remind me of the Almafi road south of Napoli which Mark, Mele and I ...
