A day to the top of Schilthorn

... Now walking through the town we realized that little small building was not actually that small after all but was in fact a rather large hotel.

After about a mile walk through the beautiful streets of Murren we find ourselves at the lower cableway station which will take us upwards towards Schilthorn peak.

We are presently at 1638m but will hopefully be right at the summit at 2970m so long as all the cableways are operating.

Onto the first cableway and ...

We were very relieved to arrive in Tirano right on the border of Switzerland - but somewhat disconcerted by the choices which "Greta" (our GPS) was making for us. Eventually we ignored many of her suggestions, but that decision was not made until late the next day unfortunately...

Switzerland, I left a part of my heart somewhere in your skies. Keep it safe for me. I'll dive out of another helicopter to visit it someday. All my love.

... a half. The hike was still supposed to be easy, just less direct. The North Face rounded past three small towns, noted only by a couple farms and a restaurant for each. We passed several more cows and one restaurant twice where we had missed a turnoff and accidentally walked back in a full circle. At one point in the woods we could hear the cow bells but couldn't see the cows due to the density of trees. As we got closer we could see the cows ...

      Last Day in Mürren

... different main dishes so we can each try a bit, but the lamb was recommended in Rick’s book and we both felt like ordering it, so, luckily, we did. And it was amazing. One of the best dishes either of us has ever had. The lamb was a perfect cut with no fat in sight. Normally I like a little fat on the meat since it preserves the flavor, but this lamb was also perfectly cooked through and perfectly seasoned. Though it ...
