... Susan, Jeanne, nancy C, and Marcia. Just waiting Betsy. Lunch on the patio with greens from the garden and fried goat cheese in prosciutto with homemade chutney. And, of corse, great dark bread. Just to keep us awake Debbie took us in a two hour hike ( I think 3/4 was uphill! Three cows shared the path with us, all with their Swiss bells! Now cleaned up for wine and our first of dial Swiss Boundless Beauties dinner. Wish you could see all this ...

After all the dire weather forecasts we had been seeing (e.g. rain and maximums in single digits!), we couldn't believe our luck when we awoke to sunshine and clear skies!

So after a quick breakfast, we headed out along the valley for one of the world's most beautiful day walks. The path takes you 9 kms from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg village and along the way past 72 waterfalls, most of which are not wide but do drop hundreds of ...

We stayed in a campsite and we were in 4 person cabins which was very cosy. On our full free day we visited Jungfraujoch which ...

Had a traditional Swiss dinner of cheese fondue - apparently if your piece of bread falls into the cheese pot you have to kiss the person to your left. We spent the night getting to know everyone on tour, I got really lucky with these guys - they were the easiest going people. The ceiling of the bar was full of coasters with messages from previous travellers.

... storm. The last hour of hiking was very flat, the highlight was a gigantic anthill we saw right off the path. I had never seen one outside of a zoo. It was about two feet high and a blur of activity. Making good time, we saw a gondola arrive when we were on the edge of town, so we sprinted the last 400 meters to meet it in time. Thankfully the gondola wasn't that crowded, or there would have been a few very unhappy people being forced to stand ...
