We started the day berthed at Beaune and there was a early excursion that started off at 0800 but we decided to miss it and have lazy morning plus Patricia had her her done in the hairdressers. Whilst that early party went off the ship moved to Macon, they came by bus after their excursion. Our excursion was in the afternoon at 1330 ...

Today we set off at 1000 to get the TGV train from Paris to Dijon, the distance is 315 km but this train goes up to 200 mph and is reliable to the minute, we were due to get there by 1358 and we did to the minute. ... entered a 3 km tunnel. Well lit but no sign of the bats they warned us about. Arrived at Cluny at midday in 33 deg. The largest monastery in the western world, dating from 11th century, but ransacked in the French Revolution. Lunch in a local cafe, followed by a walk around the old town and monastery. A very old town, almost provincial on ...

Day 3 Blase to St Amour-Bellevue, 38 kms

A travel blog entry by barbara.goodall on Jun 10, 2015

... at the tiny village of saint Amour. A spectacular hotel with magnificent rooms. Ours faced on to the swimming pool and was very spacious. Hotel Auberge Du Paradise. Recommended. Swims for all - very hot. Dinner in Auberge restaurant. 7 course degustation. In a word, spectacular. Chef is a one star Michelin chef, and food was delicious, in fact, possibly the best we've ever had. The whole village based on 'love', it's ...
