    Everybodies on the Beach!!

    ... the bodies. We climbed on our bikes and rode 10km up the beach and found a big ship that was now earth bound and zebra's and elephants and white horses. I kid you not. Check out my photos!!!! Now I think the whole of France is at the beach and half of Spain. Its all so different to what we are used to but thats why we are here! Tomorrow we shall go to Carcassonne or maybe the next day.     ... Kms to the top when I came around a bend and found the gang waiting at the sign. At this point Gilles left us. The rest of the day was primarily downhill with a stop to visit the Chappelle de la Trinite, which is .a gorgeous little chapel in a tiny village. The first church was erected on the site in the 9 th century. The current building was started in the 13th century, and the altar dates from the 1700s. I have included some pictures.     Well this day was truly a slice. I left the hotel with Peter, Steve and Gilles at 8:30, and arrived at the hotel in Prades at 7 pm. The nominal route was 115 Kms with 6 climbs.

    Our little group cut off the first two climbs thus reducing the length by about 12 Kms. We then started our climb of the Col de Pailheres which took us to 2001 metres, with the last 450 metres of altitude being done ...
