Monaco was unbelievable. I was awestruck most of the time by the fact that I was actually in Monte Carlo! Immaculate streets and gardens/parks, very clean. Designer labels and fashionable people everywhere. So small in area that every available inch of land is consumed, but still so much traffic. Amazing hills and views. The selection of photos show it best than I could describe - i took heaps of pics, so these are just a selection, but still a lot ...
Monaco, Monaco travellingross... the most beautiful boats in the world are in MonteCarlo...
Language is more interesting in france. If we try to do the simple tourist things then most people can work out what is going on but when we try something else eg. going to the doctor (sue has been sick) going to a chemist.. or finding a Laundamatt.. then the language thiig is a bit more animated....
have some grat pics of Nice and French Rivierra to show when we get home...
... didn't charge me. They do if the delay is less than 2 hrs. So instead of the 4:25pm flight, I am getting the 8:15pm. Annoying because I miss seeing Nice in daytime and the train ride to Monaco is supposed to be excellent views over the Mediterranean.
So, today has basically been in transit. Saw some good views from the plane window of the Swiss Alps (at least I think that’s what those mountains were).
Hahahaha, they are playing ...
... was really pretty. Loads of lovely restaurants that we just drooled out... and went back to the van to eat pasta and tuna.. again :)
The last beach day - so we thought was nice. The beach is long and sandy but it got rough and windy and a bit cooler later in the day so we called it quits.. sadly.... oh dear....
POLSKI:
Pociag do Monte Carlo, w obie strony, kosztowal mnie cale 5 Euro, a jazda trwala 15-20 minut. Widoki sliczne, ale najlepsza byla jednak Starowka Monte Carlo oraz samochody ...
... Paul was momentarily alarmed when I opened the door to the church - I'd read the sign and knew was it was, but apart from this sign (which Paul couldn't decipher), the entrance looked for all the world like someone's front door. We did not go into the castle - though of medieval origin, this had been clearly messed around with systematically over the centuries, and the bourg itself was more intereting to us. We had a tea and a coffee at a cafe ...
Cagnes-sur-Mer, Provence, France saracengill... somewhat okay to walk to the beach, which is what I did and Galina went shopping. I walked past the port and 50 mutli-million dollar or so ...
Monaco-Ville, Monaco jv3117... at the hotel, the AirFrance woman called to say she had found our bag and that Matthew needed to come to the airport to pick it up. Since the shuttles were shut down for the night, the hotel concierge drove him to get it. Turns out, the concierge used to be a busboy at L'Orangerie in LA just like Matthew - small world! Anyway, he got the bag, got back to the hotel, and we crashed for the night.
Nice, France fitmom... Track and the Bus driver tried to Drag along the starting grid in this massive coach. it was so funny. Almost over taking Barcelona as my favourite (i dont think ill ever decide!!) We had a wander through the casino, one of the girls won about $200 from a few dollars! and you got to look over the city from the courtyard of the grand casino, absolutley stunning views, prime position for the Grand Prix and overlooking the whole city. Very very pretty. Very medievil =)
