We were lucky to see a special ceremony for the eternal flame under the arc. We then went to dinner on the Champs Élysées! The dinner included salad, canard with potatoes, and creme brûlée for dessert! Look up canard in English! I don't know if everyone cleaned their plate but they hopefully tried this ...

When I went back ...

... various people coming in to place bets on football and the horses! We thought that the patron was probably making more money from the gamblers than he was from the customers! We had to pass the Boulangerie, on the way back to the campsite and we just had to buy some bread and patisseries - it would be rude not to! Thus fortified, we went back to the van for a siesta and to prepare for our trip, in the evening, on the Loire in ...

... in the square outside the monastery, I never did see who owned them, wouldn't it have been funny so see some French farmer come out in his overalls and drive away, but I seriously doubt that. Gosh it is really quiet in these tiny villages at this time of year on a Sunday, sometimes it is as if you have the place to yourself, occasionally you will fine a small French child playing on his bicycle and always ready to have ...
