After Elven we were in need of sustenance. Vannes was our destination, not far down the motorway, on the Gulf of Morbihan. It was easy getting into the centre of the city and found a parking spot (free between 12 and 2 being lunchtime when shops shut) and walked back through narrow cobbled streets - the norm really - and quickly chose a busy cafe with seats outside under the shade. ... were shutting but still managed to buy some seafood before the fish market closed. In the afternoon we went wandering around the town which was just lovely. There remains parts of the old town wall and ramparts, loads of half timbered houses etc. Just lovely.
