So we left there for Orleans (pronounced oh-lee-ons). Wow. This place was a surprise. It's so lovely. And clean. And the cathedral here is off the chart. We got Orleans late-ish but went for a bit of a stroll to find dinner. That's when we stumbled across the cathedral. Normally it would be closed at that time but there was a military orchestra concert on. So for 5 euro we got to hear beautiful music in the most beautiful location. Scored!!!!

So we decided that we wanted to move on from the 'generic' campsite but that didn't stop me popping in to the toilets to listen to France's own Nirvana wailing about being entertained and whining about their disenchantment with the lack of joie de vivre in their life. We went up on to the roof and we could see where we started. We bought a pencil each in the gift shop.

Just us (The Good Olde Boys) and Interceptors to go, of for 9am and on the road we go, steady drive, still put in another 9 hours of driving, but managed to go via the Millau bridge and kept pushing to get to Orleans, so this gives us an easier day tomorrow.

Rat Rods drove through the night to get to Calais for 3pm, then the 6pm boat over to the UK, they reckon to be back home in the North East for 2am. Tip my hat to them, that is a marathon driving session!! Well done lads.

... though. Some of the apartments were decorated nicely, there were a few neat sculpted ceilings, and the hall of antlers (a huge, long hallway completely filled with antlers on the walls) was interesting.

We had lunch on the way out at a little café near the castle. It was here that we discovered the "croque madame" – a unique French sandwich. It is a ham sandwich with béchamel sauce, grilled, then covered with cheese, ...
