... I called into the nearby Cafe de la Gare, which was teeming with locals eating lunch. Such a pretty little place, swathed in flowers, decorated in fresh, bright colours with some excellent murals. I was shown to a table, politely declined a bottle of wine (included in the price) and sat down to a veritable feast of really good, simple, country cooking of which France is so famous. Four courses all for €12 and the best meal of the trip so far!

... difficult - mostly because it would then involved a lot more cycling! This area would certainly be a great place to visit by car and this time of year is lovely. The colours are varied, there are still plenty of flowers and fruit on the trees, the weather is warm but not stifling.

Today's ride was good all round. It started with a lovely long run downhill from Rocamadour. This was followed by a few climbs but nothing horrible and some nice gentle roads with great views back ...

... il faisait doux. La neige avait toute fondue :( J'aurais pensé qu'il en restait un peu puisqu'il avait pas mal neigé la semaine avant mais bon...ca bien l'aire que non!


J'ai mis aussi des photos du trajet en voiture vers Aurillac. Je sais très bien faire ma japonaise lorsque je suis supposée d'étudier durant le trajet.

We left the west coast and headed inland to look for work. We stopped at Angouleme for lunch which had a spectacular view from the old city. We carried on into the Dordogne, and looking for a campsite came across a municipal site in a little town called Argentat-sur-Dordogne. The weather was stifling hot, which that night brought on 24 hours of massive thunderstorms and then 3 days of rain! The Dordogne was flooding and even Argentat lost electricity one ...

... dan die eerste 2m hoor. Ik kon het bijna niet geloven dat je op zo"n korte tijd zo snel leert vliegen. Ok, we hadden schitterende weerscondities en een heel goede leraar, maar op één week 9 vluchten van meer dan 500 meter doen is blijkbaar toch een uitzondering. Dat moesten zelfs de organisatoren toegeven.

In ieder geval … deze ervaring zal ik niet snel ...
