Mountains Meet the Ocean

With breakfast done and a hearty berocca on board to aid the hangover recovery, we sat on the front of the boat as it passed along the side of Brac Island. We were en route to Makarska (one of only a few stops we made to the mainland). Having got a few more chapters read as we cruised this part of the Adriatic, the boat pulled into a calmer bay to anchor down for our daily swim slot. Once again the onslaught of wasps from the shore inhabited our boat and the system ...

Far Away on Hvar

... Scott again behind the wheel. Within a kilometer, we rounded a curve and found a speeding motorbike pointed directly at us, well over onto our side of the line. After a good 3 hours at the beach (a tough life I know hehe) we went to the food markets to gather ingredients ...

Because we had booked with the same carrier they had to look after us so we, and about a dozen others, were met with a meal voucher, hotel room accomodation and airport transfers. So at 3am I find myself eating a tuna salad in the airport kiosk. WHO EATS AT 3am???. They kept  us there for an hour before finally herding ...

We're going on a boat.....

A travel blog entry by alexcooper on Sep 03, 2011

... off I have woken up with a massive head cold, here’s hoping it doesn’t stay too long.

Regardless of our ailments, after yet another visit to a Croatian pharmacy when we first docked in Hvar, we set off to explore the island. Hvar is supposedly the most luxurious island and the sunniest place in the country.

Hvar was a much busier island than all the other ones we had been to, it is most definitely the most touristy island, full of restaurants, bars ...
