... was another special treat as we enjoyed the Captains Dinner on the boat. A gourmet 4 courses enjoying everyone's company and having a few words with El Capitano. Then the fun really began with the arrival of the entertainment for the night. Two guys - one on guitar and the other on the piano accordion treated us to over an hour of rollicking music, singing and dancing. ... two terraces, one off each bedroom, both at the front and one we can use back of the house. These are the positives and they are big because we have already enjoyed drinks on our bedroom balcony. But we also think the kitchen is too small, we have no hair dryer, no soap, no dishwasher tablets, sooky lala, first world problems!
Unpacked then went back town to look around after a coastal walk and shopped to stock the pantry at supermarket and fruit ...

... raining 4 hours later, apparently according to the locals summer is over. Even an umbrella doesn't keep you dry ... lol, so it was horizontal time for a couple of hours before we were brave enough to go out. (Must have scared the sun away!!)

... averted yet again!

The next day, I had to take say goodbye to Zadar and took a beautiful 3 hour bus ride along the coast to Split, sparking blue coves with white houses, beaches and boats- just lovely. I was less than impressed by Split at first, the harbor where the bus station was busy and very commercial. I had directions to walk to my apartment, but couldn’t get a straight answer when I asked people for help to orient myself and there were no street signs, so ...

... panels. On the way back to the hostel, we got the kids train! It was red and yellow and quite rickety. We sat right at the front and were dropped off outside our hostel. We felt like big kids and slightly embarrassed but enjoyed it. Hvar is a popular tourist island just an hours catamaran journey from Split. It is a stunning island and very glamorous. After spending 5 days in Pag not meeting hardly any British people, it felt quite odd to hear so many British tourists. ...
