But the girls felt nervous to say that they were from Germany traveling in Greece, just because they have received a bit of subtle hostility when they say it. ... New Acropolis Museum was very nice with lots of beautiful Greek artefacts. Anna explained them very well but somehow for me, I'm not that interested in Greek history. That said, this might change, as I've just started reading a book on the intersection of Greek reasoning and beginnings of Christianity in the 5th century. ... the narrow cobblestoned streets & alleys that were full of sidewalk cafes. There was just enough room to walk down the marble stairs between tables and chairs and on some steps people sat on cushions having a drink. All very atmospheric & at one place a group of Greek men were singing . Had some fried zucchini & bread – they love their breads!!!
... of free time in the museum before we caught up with the group again and we walked up the hill to the ancient site. At the entrance to the acropolis the beautiful massive gate is situated and its pretty well preserved. We stopped here and chatted about how they made the magnificent columns so many years ago and then we wandered over to the Parthenon.
