Then there was a large room with extra large pictures of the mine throughout the centuries and what life was like to be apart of it. Our tour took about ninety minutes after which we headed West, then Southwest to the Lake District know as Salzkammergut and the region near Hallstatt. Salz means salt in German and the area is still producing salt from the mines nearby.

We passed through many tunnels cut in the the mountains which make up the Eastern edge of the Alps. Many imposing peaks both very ...

... a bunch of extra places for like a nano-second. We knew we would have to cross a lake by ferry to get to our little town, so we were looking for a lake at about the time we were supposed to be here. That was helpful. With all the extra little stops, it wasn't on time though. Only a little late. The trip took about 4 hrs.
A little excitement for us tonight. I had just started typing this and all the power went out. Pitch black in ...
