I'd like to stress the fact that we were being stupid to be out like that at that hour and it was our own faults we were robbed. The city isn't dangerous during the day, but we knew it was dangerous at night and still chose to go out to a park talking loudly in English. Stupid. ... could get involved. This made for the beginning of a hilarious night. We went to Douglas, the local crossover bar where we were swiftly joined by Alberto, his friends and a bottle of whiskey. He did not hesitate in taking us to the "coolest" bar in town, which can only be described as a house in the middle of nowhere with red windows. Having confirmed that this was in fact a form of brothel, we decided to return to the safety of Menga, where ...

... course I do!” and “Hopefully I’ll find one in Columbia”. Unfortunately that’s about as funny and clever as I managed that afternoon… The rest of the afternoon I just helped answer any questions and did some of the group exercises as Linda took control of class and I went back to teaching assistant. And they also don’t have many blue eyed or blonde haired Gringo’s visiting very often so there were a few funny occasions where I did ...
