Panamericana Norte Km 1263, Piura Mancora, Peru, 51-(1)-9813---9711
So we have checked out of Kimbas and are on the way to Kon Tiki Bungalows, it is pearched high upon a cliff over looking all of Mancora. Getting here was quite the journey in itself. First we caught a moto from our old place and tried to explain where we were going, it turns out that the place we are staying at now is only a few years old and not everyone knows about it. Anyway the three of us hopped into a moto, we barely fit along with ...
Mancora, Peru bkrabelFirst of all the had heard some stories about how difficult and long winded the border crossing from Ecuador to Peru, but we found it really easy and didn´t have a problem at all, yes there are papers to complete but you expect that... Let´s see what Peru has in store...
30 minutes into the country we found out... in the town of Tumbres, which is described in my travel book as a "charmless" border town the bus pulled ...
... sweet, purple corn) and my new favorite tummy healing thing, the hot emoliente tea from the night-time street cart - all so good!
Evan: And they put chunks of aloe in the emoliente, right from the leaf! I also loved the food. Especially the exotic foods for extremely low prices at the market. I mean a large carrot, a red pepper, 2 small sweet potatoes, and a lime all for less than a dollar - can´t beat that! It was lame we had to pay extra to ...
... having something stolen i guess. Oh well.
And it was also on that day that the stomach bug i had caught way back on that boat along the amazon (well i think i caught it there), decided to wake up and read its ugly head. I dont think it liked the cocktails or something. And so i was in bed for the remainder of the day. Yeah, fun at the beach.
So the rest of our time at the beach (our time totalled around five days), was spent lazing in the sun ...
... br> We finally rented the boards and hit the surf. This part of the Pacific ocean had a bit of a sideways current and the waves rolled inwards and just slightly to the left. The beach was a bit rocky, leaving most of the surfers a bit congested in one area and the current was strong enough to make paddling out to the waves a bit more difficult. Andy’s surf lesson was probably well worth it as by the end of the afternoon he was able to stand up on his ...
Mancora and Piura, Peru bjergaard... ideas and directions alongside random and oftentimes frustrating experiences that wreak of poor planning and poor communication but you find yourself loving him just the same. He also had a big streak of opportunism running through him which I don’t mind because you can usually see it a mile off so you just had to keep heading him off at the pass. We haggled over the room price with him saying it was $65 a night even though the website said $45 ($65 was for the spa-bath room ...
Mancora, Peru leonjacque... herself up a nasty case of Salmonella poisoning.
While Milli spent the night in the hospital I walked around the city which was surprisingly cool, got myself a pizza, went back to the hotel and watched Hitch (after which I too felt like spewing).
The next morning Milli was discharged having cured the Salmonella, but when she passed out she had hit her neck and head pretty hard so we had to go to Lima to get it looked at. Milli could barely stand and ...

Mancora, Peru martin-gabriela... their nationwide strike, and would be doing so for the next 72 hours. ****. So we waited, and waited, and waited, morning turned into afternoon, and we were still waiting by the roadside. It was almost carnival atmosphere around the buses, everybody was sitting around outside chatting, sharing the limited amount of available information, " Oh, Í have just heard we will be going in five minutes "etc etc. We took a walk down to the actual strike ...
