Hotel Las Americas San Juan

Caribbean Here We Are!! We left our home last night at around 720 pm (as usual I'm always late) for a flight of 10pm (California time). We arrived at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) around 830 pm and went directly to airport's "park and fly" and parked our van there. ... 10:00am to revisit Old San Juan. From the port, we grabbed a taxi, hola amigo, and off we went.

Having visited Old San Juan one week ago, it was a deja vu feeling. However, we enjoyed walking the cobblestone streets, viewing the houses with their Spanish architecture and stopping at various shops along the way. The people was always pleasant to talk with and ready to provide directions. Again, the weather was perfect ...

We flew Continental Airline from Ottawa to San Juan, Puerto Rico via New York/Newark, New Jersey. Flight was smooth and no problems were encountered.

Hourrah! We finally arrived in San Juan at 2:30pm with lots of sun welcoming us and palm trees waving their branches to us. :)

... get us to the ship quicker. We got to the embarkation site at the port a bit after 12:00pm and there were hardly any other people there with no line-ups. Checking in was a breeze and we were happily in our stateroom by 12:30pm.

Our room is on the Riviera Deck 14, room 704. The room has a great big king-sized bed with all of the basic room things (a big closet, as always!) and a fabulous balcony! They freshly varnished ...

Today we have to be out of the room with all our carry-ons and in the lounge area by 7am for early departure. I had always heard of the beautiful oceans, but the blues and greens were very similar to what i left back home even though the sand here was much whiter.
Boarded the cruise ship and left the beautiful port, passing Fort San Cristobal on our way out - a Fort that I promised I'd visit on my return a few days later.
