Bienvenido! Puerto Rico!

Caribbean Here We Are!! We left our home last night at around 720 pm (as usual I'm always late) for a flight of 10pm (California time). We arrived at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) around 830 pm and went directly to airport's "park and fly" and parked our van there. Immediately we proceed to the curbside check-in counter and got our boarding pass. We're flying to American Airlines direct flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico at ...

Old San Juan sightseeing

... 10:00am to revisit Old San Juan. From the port, we grabbed a taxi, hola amigo, and off we went.

Having visited Old San Juan one week ago, it was a deja vu feeling. However, we enjoyed walking the cobblestone streets, viewing the houses with their Spanish architecture and stopping at various shops along the way. The people was always pleasant to talk with and ready to provide directions. Again, the weather was perfect ...

Ottawa - San Juan: Cruising the Caribbean Islands

... laptop. Hey, I'm not the one doing the carrying. :)

We flew Continental Airline from Ottawa to San Juan, Puerto Rico via New York/Newark, New Jersey. Flight was smooth and no problems were encountered.

Hourrah! We finally arrived in San Juan at 2:30pm with lots of sun welcoming us and palm trees waving their branches to us. :)

After being greeted upon our arrival in San Juan's airport by a Princess Cruise representative ...

Day 1 of the Cruise - San Juan, PR

... get us to the ship quicker. We got to the embarkation site at the port a bit after 12:00pm and there were hardly any other people there with no line-ups. Checking in was a breeze and we were happily in our stateroom by 12:30pm.

Our room is on the Riviera Deck 14, room 704. The room has a great big king-sized bed with all of the basic room things (a big closet, as always!) and a fabulous balcony! They freshly varnished ...

God Bless Seaborne Airlines!!!

Today we have to be out of the room with all our carry-ons and in the lounge area by 7am for early departure. We sit around the lounge till 7:30 then are hearded (standard mode of moving around the whole week) down the gangway into the terminal. Our first step is to clear customs. If clearing immigrations seemed silly, clearing customs was even more ridiculous. It basically involved handing our customs form to ...

Puerto Rico

... since I can't just hop on the internet like back at home. But hell, enough about school and classes, on to the fun stuff. So since the last time I wrote its been pretty much more of the same. 80-85 and sunny every day, relaxing, calm seas and gorgeous starlit nights. I get out of class every day and have either a 3 or 5 hour gap to just lay out in the sun and get my reading done. It's incredible, every ten minutes I just look around and cannot ...

... him, but I really wanted to know what he was thinking, how he felt. I wanted to continue my exploration of Puerto Rico, not just on the surface but get to the core of it by talking to the people and seeing and hearing about what their lives were really like. I'd been to the rough parts, so it was time to talk to someone who lived there. It was incredible because I was wondering if I should have spent more time doing the adventurous activities like hiking or ...

On a ...

... after like 30 seconds in class cause the boat is rocking back and forth, its terrible! I looked at my notes from GS the other day (its a 2 hour class) and all I had written was "Puerto Rico... narrow island 100 miles long" LOL. Met a lot of cool ppl in my classes, interested in all the same academic things I am, nerdy and cool just like muah, pretty sweeeeet. I also resolved to do my envt politics teacher before the semester ends despite the "no fraternizing with ...

Hunnymoon :)

... probably glad he understood where we were going and didn't want us to confuse him.

I had always heard of the beautiful oceans, but the blues and greens were very similar to what i left back home even though the sand here was much whiter.
Boarded the cruise ship and left the beautiful port, passing Fort San Cristobal on our way out - a Fort that I promised I'd visit on my return a few days later.
