... as Joel was making films for the organisation while I worked in the fields and took over part of a volunteer coordinator role. As a part of this we had a short trip up to a very small village that had been hit with the coffee fungus roya. We went to film the devastation and interview people affected, so while it wasn’t particularly fun it was eye opening and very moving. It certainly solidified our commitment to the cause. ...

... of the rushing waters all around us made it very slow but exhilarating as we made our way further into the caves. At this stage our candles had gone out and the only light we had was a headlamp that the guide was wearing. ... dawn to stream the footy and making sure we’re keeping our costs low enough that we can continue on doing this for a while longer. Our plans at the moment are to leave Guatemala when the visa runs out in a month, explore a bit of Mexico, Cuba and Belize before coming back here to keep working on the Spanish. We’ll see what actually eventuates though.
