... to buy chocolate. Great tip! Unfortunately they're closed on Sunday, like most shops.

Next we travelled down the highway to the town of Rapperswil. The walking tour was really only a stroll for two blocks. The guide took us to two rose gardens and pointed out the main church. Rain continued to fall, and there wasn't much to do as none of the stores were open. He pointed out the restaurant where we were supposed to have lunch (not included in the tour), but I declined. ... our voucher for train tickets while I rehearsed putting the Pino in a lift. 8.50am Lisa returns advising we needed to be on platform 11 now! My rehearsal paid off, the Pino entered the lift with Swiss precision. It's amazing how many churches there are high on hills, ...

Today we rode through what could have been the inspiration for those wonderful Hornby Model Train scenes - you know the ones - distant snow capped mountains, quaint villages nestled by the lake, green fields spotted with barns and gorgeous houses, rivers and bridges and lots and lots of trains! Unlike the Hornby scenes our journey included the smell of barn held cattle - phew what a stench! Our guide book said to follow 'Cycle Route 32' out of town. The challenge was finding any ...

... stores. Hoping to find an open supermarket I did a large loop of the town finding nothing, not even a petrol station. Fortunately tourist stores stock wine and chocolate and so I returned with these and a couple of gifts for my housemate who is heading to the wilds of Canada. The rest of the afternoon was spent quietly as I introduced mum to Hart of Dixie. We won't finish the series so I'll need to send her home with ...
