... Then up the funicular to the mountain overlooking Como, not happy with view at that height we decide to walk up to the lighthouse. Snow covered following last weeks cold blast we make our way up - a long way - finally arriving at 'the lighthouse'. The view was spectacular, well the view as best it can be here with quite dense haze/smog. We could see the water but sadly the Swiss Alps, whilst could be seen, were blurry. (Switzerland is ...

We went up into the Campanone (a bell tower), which overlooked the upper city and lower city along with ...

As travel guru Rick Steves aptly describes; Milanese feel that Romans and others further south are lazy & sponge off the hard work of northern Italians. Conversely Romans think Milanese are uptight, work too hard & don't enjoy life enough.

... It was such an incredible experience. We can see why the rich and famous and the royals etc choose to ski at St Moritz. The alps are incredibly beautiful. We sat opposite 2 Canadian ladies who were over in Switzerland with a cycling club. They were really nice to chat to and we had a few laughs. The photos we took don't do the scenery justice. It was also difficult due to glare on the glass windows that only showed up in the photos. The windows in first class were ...
