... middle of the mosque under the dome which opened to collect the snow.  The snow filled pit then provides enough humidity to keep the wood from drying out over the last 700 years.   The scenery as we traveled up and over the Taurus mountains was beautiful; we saw a little snow on one of the mountaintops.  Our lunch stop was at a cafeteria and our guide explained what each of the dishes was as we figured out what to choose.  Everything was delicious.  Our next stop was Aspendos, ...

... was very pretty, and was located in a very pretty setting, and for that alone I do commend it, but for what it offered us I can’t really recommend it. Perhaps summer months may be more enjoyable, as the beach would offer an uncultured yet pleasant relief for many people.

... so just imagine it when the sky is blue and the sun is shining in the sky! It must be even more stunning! We passed right along three beautiful waterfalls, the latter being the biggest. It wasn’t the Iguazu Falls that I had seen in Brazil, definitely no comparison here, but they were waterfalls and with its surroundings, they were amazing!
