... was excellent- not too much information with amusing asides- perfect. All the guides have been the best we have ever experienced.
We were moored in Koblenz all evening so some people went out to dinner or to the bars. The ship did a Germanic buffet of regional dishes. Not that keen on german food we were relieved to find fabulous roast beef aand pork in the galley so we could also get to see where all the food is prepared. ... was a 5 minute walk from the hotel and we traveled the 8 minutes to the Zoo train station. From there, we took a train to the hauptbahnhof dot our train to Dresden.

The train was almost 1/2 hour late and it was pretty crowded. But we had seat reservations so we were okay. It was an uneventful ride to Dresden.

After we arrived at the Dresden hauptbahnhof around 12:45 we figured out where our hotel was located. It was about a 15 minute walk and ...

... to Poland to a few days later, especially so that we could detour to Dresden for the WC final weekend!! Not long after changing the ticket, I realised that I had completely stuffed up the dates, and we should have been there a week earlier!! Oh well! We had fun watching the final in Cesky Krumlov instead, and despite feeling a bit silly, we figured, we were so close, and obviously someone wanted us to visit Dresden for reasons other than the WC!!

We originally planned to spend two nights in Berlin, driving to Zagan as a daytrip, but reason (alias, Linda, in our travel group) prevailed and we decided to drive the 1.5 hrs from Zagan to Dresden to shorten our drive to Schluchsee the following day.
