I felt so warm as we got close. This area is definitely one of my favourite parts of Nederland. After last hugs with Trudi we found most of the Houwing family in their 'buiten huis', a roomy, octagonal, covered area with couches and a BBQ. In the late afternoon sun people were enjoying a drink and relaxing, with an outlook over their natural swimming pool and fields beyond. ... off the train and take a dive into the worlds largest harmonium museum on the way back out. Neither of us had ever seen a harmonium but we soon discovered they are much like an old school keyboard. We had a demo from the caretaker and then carried on our way to the other end of the museum via boat. The museum village has example of old farmsteads, barns & houses set in a treed ground with a windmill & workshops & annually a fair is held there for crafts with stalls selling a wide range of products. We wandered through some of the buildings & the stalls & it was fascinating to see the construction techniques used in the barns etc.

From there we moved on to another fair ...

... houses the ferry terminal which services routes to the outlying islands. Even though we weren't taking a ferry, we took the opportunity to hang out in the warmth & enjoyed some local fries with mayonnaise. We topped up our water supplies & headed out into the evening. ... I discovered that the 3.5 litre Morris engine had the same bore and stroke as the prewar Jaguar. You will know that I have played with these engines also and that they were built for performance whereas Stanley is definitely the Parker Knoll of the motoring world,Difference is the Jag has got a crankcase breather but old Stan hasn't.
