... do we luckily stumble across a pay phone and call from there. Oma and Iwan arrive within a few minutes. We have a discussion about how we are going to recognise each other but as soon as they pull up we can see Oma waving like crazy, she's obviously better at the recognition game. The museum village has example of old farmsteads, barns & houses set in a treed ground with a windmill & workshops & annually a fair is held there for crafts with stalls selling a wide range of products. We wandered through some of the buildings & the stalls & it was fascinating to see the construction techniques used in the barns etc.

From there we moved on to another fair ...

... t. As it was the beginning of a long week-end in Holland-and the cabins were fully booked-we had to bite the bullet & tackle the headwind across the bridge. Hannah did well to battle the elements & we finally made the crossing in 3 hours. We stopped for a snack and got out our stove to make ourselves some hot cuppas as a reward. The girls had fun rolling down a nearby dyke.

... wall at one end to a rather fine old harbour (complete with wonderful craft - a feature of our journey throughout). The approach to it is through acre upon acre of wind turbines and when the coast is reached the wind hits the beach at right angles.Its like sticking your head in a Dyson hand drier. ... in German was a challenge, but we tried our best. After the service, a couple men came up to us to tell us that they were related to us as well! Such a friendly, friendly people and church.
