... wagon trot along the road (had to stop on my bike to snap a photo) and lots of lovely houses in the Swiss style of 3 or 4 levels with tiny wooden shingles (I wonder if they apply them in big sheets or have to line them up manually one at a time) and with a barn right next door!

I stopped on the way back by a river to have my meagre lunch of baked beans (I had a big breakfast!) and apples, did a pee under the bridge out of sight (I hope!) and headed on my way!

I feel like I've stepped into a fairy tale bubble!

... s birthday, so we celebrated with the family over a cheese fondue - very traditional! Yves' grandmother remembers her first fondue just after the second world war - I'd like to know more about it's history...

Sunday, we had a relaxed start, and headed off early afternoon to Bodensee (or Lake Constance if you're talking about it in Germany), the huge lake that borders Switerland, Germany AND Austria! A magnificent body of clean, cold water ...

Police Adventures in Konstanz!

... back this makes a lot of sense that the federal police would be right next to customs...but for a foreigner, at the time, I was kind of..just ready to give up. But, we finally found the local station!

So, an errand which should've taken maybe an hour max, turned out to be a two hour journey. But! on the bright side now I know where the hospital, local police, and federal police are. Now I just need to find the fire station!

... considerably larger than Konstanz, and I noticed this as soon as I stepped off the bus. I was fortunate enough to have friends in both places, so I was able to find places to stay. I think getting lost is a must when you travel, because I did it several times...but this is okay!
