... in the parking lot accepting donors. So, with some initial reluctance, Kelsey and I signed up for an evening slot. Neither of us had given blood before, so we were a little nervous. But Kelsey wanted to give blood, ever since being inspired to do so through some episode of Extreme Home Makeover. And it's been something that I've wanted to do before I die. There's no good non-medical reason not to, right?

This [extended] weekend, we're staying in a wonderful little motel--family owned, specializing in extended stays. So we have a little kitchenette, and a separate bedroom. How refreshing it is to say "Hey I'll be in the other room"

We're in the quaint little Pennsylvania town of Mohnton, and we're staying here just in time for the annual Pumpkin parade!

Just one school today! A 9:00 show, and that's it. Perfect.

Set-up today was really fun. We were at a middle school, and provided with six guys from the football team. (Funny how middle school football players are no bigger than other middle school guys).

They were great help. They listened to instruction, and didn't work ahead without it. We got done setting up early, and the boys were excused from the entire period, so we had some time to fill ...

Hey everyone! We've spent our weekend in Pennsylvania. And y'know, it's been really refreshing. Our hotel is on a pretty secluded exit off the highway, without many convenient amenities. But we've liked it! It's very quiet out here. The culture of Pennsylvania seems a lot slower than New Jersey. A lot more laid back.

... not a pretty sight). On my visits I try to stay in a central location so this time I tried the Nixe Palace (L) in Cala Major. This is a small sandy bay just outside the city of Palma which is easily accessible by taxi and bus. The hotel itself has a fine position overlooking the bay and is popular for those looking for the culture of the city and a beachfront hotel. Located directly on the Paseo Maritimo is the Hotel Melia Victoria (L) just perfect for a winter weekend break ...

BY this time, my lily whiteness is not so white anymore and though I was careful with my sunscreen, I somehow managed to burn myself on a one inch wide two inch long strip at the top of my left thigh. Don't ask, I have theories, but really no conclusive evidence as to why that one spot burned so badly (and yes it was bad). A little bit worse and I am sure it would have blistered. There are so many tourists here now, I hate to think what it must be like in July and August. Most of them (about 80 percent) are quite old, fairly well off and from England and the USA.
