    Stef and Jan came down from the Engadin by train and the immediate family went out to the cemetery for the final ceremony.

    From here we all headed to the church for the funeral service which was led by Pastor Spielmann who in spite of being totally blind provided a very moving service all done whilst reading from his prepared script in braille.

    After a late night being cultured, we took the opportunity of a comfortable bed to sleep in. The day was slow but after getting ready and packed to hit the road we headed out for Eglisau to spend the afternoon swimming in the Rhine.

    Today is the day that we travel to meet Sue & Roy. They are coming over to join us for two weeks in their camper van.
    The journey was only 47km but it was very pretty all through the mountains.     ... ruin just outside of Singen at Hohentwiel. I manage to navigate our way there without too much trouble. With daylight saving time in effect, tourist attractions remain open for longer hours and although it's after 17:00, there's no problem to get tickets to tour the top of the tower. We make our second steep ascent for the day as we have a 20 min walk before we reach the castle gates, and a further climb to the buildings ...
