The roof of the hospice was amazing it was tiled with bright colours that made a very interesting pattern. I think i had seen a pictured of this place in a book i have about France because i recognised it. Before we entered the hospice and were waiting outside we bumped into a couple of people from New Zealand. It was really cool, i was just talking with them for bit about what we were all doing in France and one ...

Then we head off to try Luxembourg wine at Ross suggestion. If you have never tried it - definately give it a go. Amazing couple hours drinking fine white wine.

... wrist. This apparently put a dent in her trip and the hospital in Paris wasn't going to be able to put on a lighter cast for her until Friday so we went ahead and had her come out today and replaced the cast with an ace bandage ourselves. She was a little frightened, but I'm sure her wrist will be okay. The trip here was very pretty and I wish I could have taken pictures but the train was moving too quick to really catch anything. It was my first trip on a ...
Luxembourg, Luxembourg torilusk... a lot but it tasted sooo good =). Then after we had to walk back to the appartment because Marie had forgotten something and then back to school which quickly burned off the lunch. I am doing a lot of exercise in France with all the walking and the flights of stairs at school.
The next class was english which, as you can imgaine, i was very happy about. However the english teacher is not very nice and i soon found out that the english ...
... who happened to know a graffiti artist, so he painted their car for them, and it looked fantastic, as you'll see in my photos.
Included in our challenges for the day was a task to take a picture of a V1 flying bomb from World War Two. We were given a hint that there was one in the foyer of La Coupole, a base which was built by the Germans in World War Two to fire V2 rockets at London, so we drove there (via the wrong museum outside of St Omer ...
... do?? But there's a lot more here than the wine. It's a lovely, rolling countryside with wheat fields and other crops, beautiful villages and towns with medieval buildings (many restored after the ravages of two world wars), ancient cultural monuments such as Clairvaux Abbey (founded by St Bernard in 1115), and an interesting crystal factory. It's an area to spend more time some day, and only a couple of hours from Paris.
Arsonval, Champagne-Ardenne, France graemehWe have stopped for Flunch in St. Dizier after 2 and a half hours and 90 miles of hell. Every gust of wind, corner or oncoming juggernaut drains your strength and hurts your muscles. But it's stopped raining now and the fields of sunflowers still look beautiful :-)
Saint-Dizier, Champagne-Ardenne, France tekknochicken... Roger, Perrier-Jouet, Mercier are just a few other names on this street. Veuve is from Reims so not in Epernay. Our campsite is directly in Epernay so we have a ridiculous view of the vineyards right along the Marne river, they actually encircle us, and were a great place to watch fireworks last night as the country celebrated Bastille Day (cant believe you knew that on the phone dad! good work) We just came here to the internet kiosk after a free tasting at the tourist ...
Epernay, France kaylz... to the main museum there, and saw that. it was pretty neat. they had uniforms and vehicles from the battle, and lots of pictures from that time period. Verdun was the worst battle during the War, over 700,000 people lost their lives in the fighting. after the museum, we walked to the main cemetery where over 15,000 french soldiers are buried. along the way, we decided to try our luck at hitchhiking. it worked out great. the first person that went by ...
