... map and a healthy condition can get you there. Of course guide and porter make hiking easier in a way, as well as more expensive. For me it was never an option. Carrying some food and of course my small cooker made me feel like roaming the mountains in full freedom. A beautiful lookout spot… time for tea! The little pleasures in life. Today we got off to a slow start - morning on the Ganges, a look at a Jain temple, then onto the road for what should have been a relatively easy drive. We got caught at a number of train crossings, in one political rally in a city, and got dead-ended at an unfinished bridge, so arrived in Corbett National Park at sunset. Just a few pictures from the road ...

Day 38: Ramnagar - Jeep Safari

... a tiger the safari was a great experience. We saw, photographed and got very close to 2 different kind of monkeys, wild boar, spotted, sambar and barking deer as well as many birds and other animals. The Jeep was organised by the hotel and we had it to ourselves along with our guide Romesh. All of the safari outings have been very professionally organised and well worth the money we paid. On the way back Romesh bought some Indian sweets to share, they were ...
