      ... br> Onwards and upwards and its getting colder by the mile. Snow is now all around and many parts of the road have packed ice along it so I need to take great care getting up this pass.

      Every inch of the way I watch the satnav counting down the kilometres but they just never seem to be getting any less.

      After a long hard slog I finally arrive at the hotel I plan to stay in right at the top of the pass and right under the Dolomites.

      Eventually came to another Refugio - and at this point John and Tom decided to take this high mountain trail and meet us at the top Refugio, which would be located way up high on a mountain peak.       ... with bierra - so we sat and dined at an outside table, watching the hang gliders which were literally everywhere in the sky above us! Cyndy fought for a bit with a fruit fly, which was swimming around in her beer. (A problem we discovered yesterday). She found that she could still enjoy her beer to the very bottom and avoid drinking the fruit fly! We are a talented group!

      Leaving Zurich with a hopeful heart that we still have great weather in the mountains, we were on the road again. When we left Switzerland and entered Italy the energy has changed, from the formal distant stiffness one has gotten into the friendly open playful unorganized perfectly functioning state of being which is more the southern European behavior. It felt I came home, besides everyone thinks I am Italian.

      ... charm to it. The people running it are absolutely amazing too. They do everything they can't o make you feel welcome and at home. Only one of the people in Jorge accommodation speaks English and as a result I have been pulling out the German. I can tell you now, my German is horribly basic! Haha but (to give myself credit) it is really hard to speak German when in Italy and everyone else is speaking Italian. ...
