... the shopping in Cortina is just fabulous and not a "chain" store to be found. Really worth the drive to this super chic resort.
The one downside is that it is crowded. We are in high season and German school Holiday is going on now. Add to that the fact that the Dolomites have not had this much snow since 1951. Minor complaint and it sounds like things will clear out next week.

The shows in Brixen however did not reflect the niceness of our accommodation. I have never met ruder children!! Oh well - I guess they're teenagers!
We had a trip up to Ploser, approx 2500m high and the views were stunning!

... through it. There isn't much to do here apart from walk up to the Schloss on top of the hill at one end of town. But luckily, the weather has been kind to us and on Sunday there was blasting sunshine!
We met with a friend, David Taylor, who also works for Vienna's English Theatre and went to dinner with him. His knowledge of Austria is incredible and he has enough anecdotes that could last for days! A very nice evening had by all.
... Honda Transalp has been a really fantastic machine since I bought it 3 years ago. So far it’s needed both front fork springs replaced and its rear shock absorber and the swing arm bushes. Other than the usual things such as tyres and chain & sprockets it has never needed anything, not even a light bulb!!
I now have until Tuesday afternoon to arrive at the ferry port in Amsterdam so it’s going to be a slow trip across Austria and Germany and then finally The Netherlands. ...

Again it’s yet another cuppa and a seat outside taking in the wonderful surrounding scenery. The sun really is beating down now and the temp gauge on my bike is reading a massive 19 Celsius!! Is this really winter??
