... hit 28 degrees with not a cloud in the sky. We disembarked the ship around 12.30 and we were docked right in the town. We had a wander and found where Napoleon was born, took a few pics for Sharon's dad. The town was very bustling and quite nice despite being French !! We then did a little tour of the south side of the island on a small open train which took an hour and a half and was lovely, we saw lots of different places and some beautiful scenery ...
Up at 6am to ensure we get through the rest of Sardinia and across to Corsica before dark. Once again little wind so we motor on up and cruise through the Maddalena's. Very pretty and lots of large expensive yachts floating around. Making good time we head across the Bonafacia Straights and into port. A very unique harbour and hopefully time to explore tomorrow morning before we head off to Minorca - it's all go here but have to keep moving whilst weather is good for ...
... the nicest thunderstorm come through I've seen and heard in years. The lightning was both vertical and horizontal with great booms of thunder. It is pouring outside as I write this. It's been a great day. We will probably walk into town later tonight for dinner. It all depends on if it's pouring or not. We got back to our room, and I immediately got my suit on to go to the pool. The sun felt so good and so warm. Eldon stayed in the room to pick out several different hotels for tomorrow night. He came down with the computer and I selected the place I wanted to stay tomorrow night. We have a water view, pool and balcony. It should be quite nice.
