We had another opportunity to manage a hostel; this time, in Panama. The owner would be gone for a month-long vacation and asked us to keep the business running while he was away. Perfect. We had been looking for a place to unpack the bags for a bit and this was great timing. So from Nicaragua, we trekked through Costa Rica, spending one night in San Jose, and finally arrived in Chitre, Panama.

... 6pm parades took place on both days. I only went on Monday, because it was the procession of our street. Our street was all covered up in blue as well as the procession. We ended up at our church and visited the
service. The following day I did not participate in the parade, because I felt the urge to go running and do some stretching exercise. Since here are not many sports activities ...

... to eat it is sweetened. The fruit flesh is formed into a ball with sugar which is quite sour. They a also drink it like a lemonade. The juice is also mixed with water in a little plastic bag and frozen so you can eat it as ice. This is called 'duro' which translated means 'hard'.
Anyhow, I'm very excited about Monday, because then my actual work here will start!!
All in all I feel comfortable here and I'm looking forward to getting to know some people better. ...
