Finally. The ocean. Corsica's beautiful northern turquoise abyss provided soothing balm to the soul. Tears were shed as we wandered into the ocean, creating solace amidst the chaos, bringing light to dark. I had mournfully ached for the ocean amidst those mountains for the past six months. I loved those peaks, I stared in awe every day at the ever changing vista from our living room ...

... if we just picked out a main dish. The seafood has been great, but it is an island, and we are right on the coast. However we didn't think much of the mussels, that everyone else seems to love. Tonight's dinner was again beautiful, and really more than we could eat. I had the fish soup. John had the Corsican salad, I had the salmon pasta, John, the chicken and sautéed potatoes, and we both had ice cream for dessert. In CALVI we are staying at Le Mariana ...

We went back to the room and rested. Around 1:30 we got out our cheese and ham from yesterday and shared a bottle of wine.

... a grocery store about 10 minutes from our hotel and got a yummy cheese, smoked prosciutto, bread and a beautiful little piece of pork pate with black truffles in it. Our room wasn't ready so we walked across the street and sat on a bench over looking the Mediterranean sea. It was gorgeous. We just can't get over the colors of the water. It is so crystal clear. I'll bet the snorkeling is amazing here.
