... marker has a wrought iron cross rather than gravestone, and in front of the marker is fresh soil with fresh flowers. Many folks were milling about the cemetery, most in traditional German clothing. We took a seat in the huge church; it was gorgeous inside-- very cathedral like. It kept filling up, then before we knew it, the band from last night (marching through the town at 11pm, 1am etc) played outside the church. After their songs, they paraded into church ...

... apartment owner, who's just as laidback as Rick Steves said. Then began our journey. It was a gorgeous blue skied day and we took many pictures as we waited for the ferry to Varenna. ... colours where water has seeped through and allowed lichen to grow on the rocks. We stopped at the Rifugio Lavaredo briefly and continued on to the Rifugio Locatelli, which was a very busy hut. Here I had a beer and Val had a mineral water. We went to to the summit of a mountain behind the hut with David, Hilary, Jules, Roy and Val, and I and took a few pictures. We saw some choughs flying and congregating in the rocks. Choughs are black birds which are relatively common in the ...

... a biker meeting point. It's incredible! And the roads are ideal - twisty hairpin bends with a spectacular view at each turn. We went for a ride in the afternoon - riding west from Corvara over the Passo Gardena which connects Corvara in the Val Badia with Sëlva in the Val Gardena on the west side. It has an elevation of 2,136 m above sea level. We then went south over Passo Sella between the provinces of Trentino and South Tyrol in Italy. It ...
