... And by then the snow has retreated to higher elevations. We have nice views of the surrounding mountains and of Cortina below us. Supper is most amusing. We are the only customers in the restaurant until a cycling tour group of 20 arrives. We get at least one extra course courtesy of them, in addition to two other appetizers that we didn't order. ... so except for the existence of abandoned border buildings. The homes look just the same as in Italy. Lienz is also very pretty with a pedestrian area. We walk a bit before stopping for Gelato (even though it is not very warm). The rain holds off until we are getting into our cars for the drive home. We are back in Cortina before 6 PM while our friends still have to get back to Treviso near Venice. All in all a fun ...
