    ... for the train to Bordeaux where we will change trains and head to La Rochelle for 2 nights before we say goodbye to them and start on our cycling tour. Now that we're out of the sun and not moving around much, we're all a bit tired so there will probably be some gentle snoring occurring on the train in is afternoon ;). The train journey started slow, had a bit of a panicked rush in the middle and ended slow. After about a 2 hour wait ...

    ... had by all. Thankfully MIreille was able to bridge the language gap so we understood; I was able to communicate in garbled Fringlish at times.
    The shortest of drives heading south has brought us to the charming city of Albi, dominated by its huge red brick cathedral [what French city isn't?]. We have had a short wander round and now its time out to rest. The travel has been pretty busy for a week and we have seen soooooo much. All a bit tiring ...

    ... English, the place is cool, has a lovely courtyard with a nice fresh breeze so we're pretty comfy. The others will arrive sometime later this afternoon or evening. Our job is to scope out a restaurant for tonight. Shouldn't be too hard, it's not a big town and once we can stash our suitcases somewhere safe, we'll be off for a walk to explore!     ... restored into a comfortable home. Marie-Cecile was born in this family home 60years ago. We were ensconced in two spacious bedrooms on the top floor, complete with ensuites and views over the river.

    After pre dinner drinks of Cider and Champagne, we had a fabulous feast of foie gras, pate de campagne and potted pork, main course of roast fowl, a 4 cheese platter then Tiramisu. fantastic. A well fuelled night of crossed language made for a most entertaining night - lovely ...
