We made a good effort to get up a bit earlier than usual this morning as the nearby town of Gaillac has a market in each Friday. Early for us mind you was 8:30am... The market was good for a small town. Consisting of fruit, veg, meats (fresh and cured), cakes/breads as well as a variety of ornaments, clothing and even mattresses and doonas! We bought a beautiful salad bowl and cheese board made from 200yr old olive wood. The grain and colour is incredible. The kids ...

The food was very artistic and tasty and we mentioned it was Harry's birthday and when dessert time came around they came and sand happy birthday to him. We left here and travelled to a castle about 1/2hr away called Chateau de Penne. ...

... Found the supermarket and a pub so all was good. About 2:30pm we left Gaillac and drove out to the house we were staying out. We met Stephane at Castelnau who then directed us out to the property. Well we weren't disappointed. Great views, large well appointed house with underfloor heating, wood fire (with plenty of wood outside), excellent ...

... looking over the mist covered land. Sunny now and warmer with the promise of warmer weather ahead, perhaps we will head for Perpignon but I do want to visit the thermal baths at Therme Les Bain, where else of course! Enjoyed many visits there over the years with students from ...
