... that our assumption was wrong. We ordered an overpriced Tapas collection for 2 persons (20 EUR is a hefty price for rural Andalusia) - well our own fauld, dad insisted... All tapas had been underlayed with potato chips or bread, and - the worst - the pulpo was bat. It turned out that three of us caught slight food poisoning...
... for a quick trip to a nearby lake and river where there are said to be deeper pools for wading. The lake is easy to find- about 20 minutes from Alhama de Granada. The water is super blue and beautiful. We park and stroll along the water's edge for awhile, dipping feet, tossing some rocks and enjoying the stunning 360 views. Just a relaxing and wonderful place. ... before it was time to depart back to our mountain home in Alhama de Granada.
Back at home after the mountain drive return we rest for a bit and enjoy some homemade vino tinto de verano made by Garth with a local bottle of red wine, yummy. Then we head out for some tapas and sangria down in the centre plaza. After tapas we head to a restaurant for some delicious fish and salad with tuna. After dinner, it's time for some ice cream before heading up to a nice soft bed.
... thin crust. We enjoy some more sangria which comes with tapas. We are not hungry tonight ! The kiddos go across the plaza to get some ice cream cones while we finish our sangria and wait for the bill. We even have leftover pizza to take home with us.
The sun is setting so we head home to get ready for a night's rest. Sightseeing in Granada tomorrow !
So far our holiday in Granada has been quite relaxing, we sleep in until ten most days, and after lying around for an hour or so we go out for lunch and have a walk around. Our apartments got a really nice view of the little streets and paths, very Spanish.
