We spent a lot longer there than we had anticipated (we were there for over three hours!) – we had no idea how big the place was, and also no idea how interesting it would be. It was definitely a highlight for all of us.

We wanted to keep it pretty simple today. A Quick drive by the lovely Saumur Chateau and a stop in a Winery. The Winery was EXCELLENT. We escaped our Romeo and Juliet castle with our heads.....and our hearts :) Didn't sleep well, was just a bit to creepy. Had a nice visitor to my bed before I left, who was eager for scratches and attention. We breakfasted in the chapel, greeted by Claude, not in his dressing gown today, he's feeling marginally better. It was all set up for us, church classical music playing, it was lovely. Nice home-made jam with our bread and croissants. ...
