From Chamonix we entered Switzerland via a smaller mountain road and drove up the main valley of the Valais, which is surrounded with vineyards, mainly on the north side of the highway but often on both. Small castles dot the hills in the valley, protecting the turf of the former residents. Turning off the main road into the Val d'Herens, we stopped at a small relais or café and shared a delicious TRANCHE (dish made of bread, white wine of the ...

Did this three times, just for fun.
No luggage but rain on the first two runs over.

We travelled on two gondolas to get to the top of the mountain. The first gondola held a maximum of six people, ...

This weekend's trip took us more than 10,000 feet in the air, up-close with the Matterhorn peak! I would certainly say, this was one of the more memorable meals I've ever eaten -Fondue at 10,000 feet! Cheers to high alpine peaks and Swiss cheese! It was difficult not to have your breath taken away, both figuratively and literally! ...

... 8217;s so flat that you don’t gain any appreciation of where you are going or how far you’ve come, which serve as motivation to keep going. We got a little bit lost on the many small roads inbetween communities and the signage wasn’t brilliant, but we found our way to the foot of a mountainside after about 3 hours since leaving the campsite. The ascent up to Champex began from here and is ...
