... headed to the little restaurant and enjoyed the local specialty of potatoes with melted cheese out on the grass. (I like Swiss food!). When we were ready to get back on the trail to finish our hike for the day, we pulled out the itinerary to find the name of our hotel. Much to our surprise, we had already arrived! How lucky we not walked the rest of the way to the bigger village where we thought we were staying! Our activity for the afternoon was a long nap! We slept until ...

... ready for the weekly helicopter delivery. This sounded like setting to see, so we found a spot on a nearby hill and watched the show with a family from Scotland. It was fascinating!! They hauled and delivered many loads. They even delivered a washing machine! The helicopter was very precise in the drops... Day 6 Today we started with a very sharp climb, 600 mts in elevation, to cross the Col du Ferret, and into Switzerland. It was not a very restful night as there were about 30 in our dormitory, with quite a few snorers, many taking a trip to the toilet during the night, and some leaving early this morning, but still the meal last night was great, the bed comfortable and the showers hot. One downside of this almost new lodge was it had squat toilets. Oooooooh the ...

... ignore us, or turn up their noses at us. Even the French members of our group call them Lemonsuckers now. We sit near them at dinner each night and still it's like they have never seen us before. Tonight's refugio, is fairly new, and very well set out, but no WiFi. There is a big balcony along one side facing the mountains, and as we arrived quite early, it was lovely sitting there in the sunshine. Our washing dried in an hour, but even though ...

The showers in Bonatti aren't regulated by a timer like many places on tour, instead there is a certain amount of hot water and when its gone, its gone. Therefore the people who got up at 6am enjoyed a nice long hot shower, whilst we made the mistake of getting up at 7:30 to have 1 min of warm water before it just cut off dead :( . We had a great breakfast though and were out early at 8:30. The weather was just about holding ...
