... down the valley and up again and soon I gave up
          and headed back to Gornergrat.

now it was snowing and the chances of me getting anymore shots of Matterhorn
were not looking good at all. The temp was now a wonderful -5 and so I headed
          back to the train station.

walk back to the station was sure an adventure and a rather scary one at that.
Of course me being me I wanted the best photos of the area and so I decided to
          take a detour ...

... times. There are many ancient ruins in this tiny Roman town and we found most of them on our bikes. It was good to explore and surprisingly busy. I have been trying to post an ad on Gumtree to sell the beast for the last few days with much frustration as it won't post. I've finally found out that its from their end and they have technical issues so I've wasted a few hours writing the same advert out several times as there is no way to save it. Lucky I'm not on a tight ...

... and had our slightly chilly lunch on the perfect large rock.

Driving down the road toward Visp the road passed through numerous lovely little old Valais towns, like Reidinger and Munster and many more. The valley was so very picturesque, with old typical Swiss wooden homes and some light industry, like a large cheese factory. Arriving in Tasch, we parked the car in the modern garage, not to see it again for 5 days, and took the ...

... to a fairytale palace in the heart of the ice. Here glittering ice crystals and shimmering ice sculptures danced before our eyes. A few of the group were becoming a little breathless so we returned to the restaurant where Chris had organized glasses of Prosecco ( my favourite) overlooking the mountains. Perfection! Thursday and our last day here. Quite cool and windy as we started out towards the gondola station for a ride up to Trogener Steg then to ...

Here is yet another summary of our travels thus far. It's a list of strange and/or unusual things we've seen during our summer adventure..... * heard of mountain goats being ushered through the middle of a Swiss town by teenage boys in traditional Swiss attire. The goats all had long hair and noisy cow bells! * mountain goats again.... Climbing and dinning on an extremely steep cliff on an uninhibited island in Greece above natural volcanic hot springs * stop sign in ...
