... and decided on the 55 minute drive to Uzes and then work our way back home via Pont du Gard. What an inspired decision in several respects. Uzes was a wonderful surprise and by the time we stopped at Pont du Gard it was the only hour or so all day when it wasn't raining.

Trees are beginning to flower, birds are chirping and building nests, and as I sit looking out through the open French doors to the fields below I try hard not to think of the snow at home. We had a long swim while Mama and Dada made a dinner of omelet and other leftovers from the week. After dinner we went swimming again, of course!
Tomorrow we leave the south heading for ...

    ... a souvenir!

One more brief stop at the super-marche for some basics to keep us going. Super markets in other countries are always fascinating to us. Highlights of yesterday's shop included at least three different crisps, Cote D’Or chocolat praline and various biscuits. We were very tempted by the 12 pack of Twix and Mars bars for 3 Euros (measuring about 30 inches in length) however the practicality of lugging on upcoming trains, cabs ...
