    ... slowly. Last night was very warm and no air-con. The surrounding villages and sights.are full of tourists this week, but it will be quieter next week when school resumes, and hopefully a little cooler.

    Andrew has just visited the bakery and returned with croissant and baguettes for our breafkast - so hard to resist.

    Our day started with a 45 min ride by bus to Pont du Gard, another UNESCO World Heritage site. Just a one kilometre walk and we arrived at the entrance to the large park reserve surrounding the roman aqueduct and housing a large museum.     ... various couloured deposits (depending on the minerals being filtered through the earth, the lakes and the "soldats" (thousands of tiny little stalagmite-like formations in fields that they have not been able to explain)… While I thought that he was really interesting albeit incomprehensible to some....(which of course means the dad who does seem to have trouble with the language!     Today we decided to venture a little further. We woke early-ish and headed to Nimes. It was a 45 minute ride to the city itself and then another twenty minutes which involved many many tiny narrow roads, aggressive drivers expecting to somehow get past our rental rental car and very little parking.
