... lady informs us that, if we wish, we can also take the ferry leaving that evening at 24:00 i.e. in one hour. We gulp and grab our tickets.
Departure procedure:
We find the quay of our ship and drive on.
ETA:
The ship leaves 24:00 on the dot
Passenger areas:
The ship is brand new, there are thick luxurious carpets on the floor and we just manage to resist the temptation to remove our dusty shoes. Numerous bar and lounge ...
... of the Paleo Frourio, an old Venetian fort. That was pretty cool. Then, late this afternoon we went through the Archaeological Museum. We didn't spend much time here since it was close to closing time and we were all tired from the water park.
That evening though we ate at our first authentic Greek taverna, we found one playing Greek music ...
... little ladies. Woosh. I don't know what they put in the Southern American water, but whenever a latin beat comes on, the little 80-year old gals throw their walkers to the side, stand up and start gyrating their hips in 360 directions without a second's hesitation. And their husband's do the same. It makes you feel like a teenager just watching them. It's so, so great.
Okay, I think that may be all I have for updates right now. I've taken a zillion photos and even some ...
... the day looking at the old forts, the unique streets and of course shopping. Olivia has a pair of Dior (????????) sunglasses now for the mere price of $14NZ, so many terrible take offs here.
Next day - Santorini. Opened the cabins curtains to see a sheer cliff with a town perched at the top. The only way to get up was a zig zagging path or a cable car. We were ferried by boats to shore and Chris started making noises about walking up. Robyn ...
... both to come crashing into the water which left us with grazes and bruises all over! After spending a few hours there we continued sailing and cooked 2 minute noodles for birthday lunch and lounged on the boat. Also had a lot of swim stops along the way where we'd just anchor in the middle of the ocean and dive off the boat. So cool. And we all had turns holding on to the back of the boat and being dragged along in the water while we were sailing along (not sure if we ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece t_leeThere is a town north of Corfu and it's really cool, but it's a village in some way.Though, I did visit the Corfu town and I must say it is AMAZING. All those fortresses and fancy resturants and bars were a total hit! Everybody was so relaxed, people aren't that stressed at all. I ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece indianabones... but sure I will find out. I got into Seranda just before it got to dark to see and I didnt realise it would be quite what it was. There is alot of high rise buildings and it has a feel of a tourist resort but it is also quite nice and relaxed as well. I managed to ehad towards the backpackers and eventually find it even though it was dark and going through a neighbourhood with kids playing in the streets. I actually bumped into an American guy who was looking ...

... at Butrint, in the very south of the country and right on the border with Greece. Very impressive they were, too. Some well preserved mosaics and all that sort of thing. Hmmm, history. Not my strong point. My main memory of Saranda is irritation. I had been travelling with a few people for the past couple of days, and by the time we got here, they had really begun to annoy me. I had intended to spend a night ...
Saranda, Albania mrconfused... can see has a mosaic floor which the Albanians covered with sand and dirt to preserve. In the pictures you will see a circle of columns with a baptismal bath in the center. Paul risked life and limb to photograph this never before seen by modern man "abysmal baptismal" as it was in a forbidden area with a large DO NOT ENTER sign which Paul immediately ignored with Jim on his heels. Upon leaving the ruins we barely made it back to Saranda due to the congestion ...
