... with all new shops and bars/restaurants. Beautiful ! Than we got into the old centre full of old narrow streets and nice squares again with lots of terraces and cafe's. We saw the magnificent cathedral and found a Pain Quotidien where we had a cappuccino and flute like we always have ! Great ! We found a place where we had mussels for dinner at a terrace which were real nice, especially as we hadn't had them for a long time. ...

Another travel day. Tears were shed upon leaving our Barcelonian hotel.

One of the stops we made was in a small town named Carcassonne. This is truly the archeype of what people think of when considering a medieval village. All the town surrounded by a moat and thick castle walls.

In between was a very old looking wall which we found out was part of the Fort du Hâ, 16th century building, part of which was removed to make way for these newer buildings.
