... built for the secretary to the Count of Savoy, at the end of the fourteenth century (1397). We've included some photos of the public gardens, one can only imagine how beautiful they must me in summer! Fortunately restaurants always seem to be open, so we stopped our walk to enjoy crepes, mine with lemon and sugar (citron et sucre) and Ron's had chocolate. While wandering through the ancient city, we ...

... We walked in the rain through the old town which criss-crosses over the many canals. The water is high in the canals and running very fast from the lake. The ducks were having trouble swimming in the water! We looked at a few shops and made our way to Lake Annecy. skiing (for the novice, children, adults, and for any serious skiers). You hear lots of English speaking people around and even many French (ski and ...

... amazing, perhaps more than 200 stalls throughout the long street. There is the old town reaching down to the lakeside and surrounding the two rivers which merge around the Palais de l'Isle. The lake is surrounded by the Aips and it's absolutely magical beautiful and about 40 km from the Swiss border. It is a perfect spot for romantic getaway, or family vacation.

I would recommend Annecy to anyone who is headed toward the Alps !!!
