That night, Michels father, Daniel, and his girlfriend, Ghislaine, came over for dinner. We had nibbles and champagne, then entree of pâté fois with pickles and kiwi fruit and a rose wine, followed by pork with mushroom sauce, cooked endive, and potatoes with red wine, and lastly cheeses. All very nice and filling! Michel likes the Beatles, so he played that in the background for us.

... got there, we found out the shop doesn't open till 1:30pm. Apparently something had been lost in translation when I tried to interpret their website before walking over to the shop. There are other bicycle shops, but this one is significantly cheaper. Tuesday was supposed to be laundry day, but there was no reason not to switch our plans and do laundry today and visit Damme tomorrow. ... stew are all very large traditions in Belgium (at least it was good)!

All in all, Brugge didn't give me that great of an idea about business or life in Belgium because it was oriented towards people who are not from Belgium. That being said, I think the trip would have sincerely lost out without having the visit. Brugge is truly as beautiful as people say and there is a lot of history worth knowing once you get past the touristy feel.

Our second day in Brugge, I felt much better. We got a decently early start and went to visit a church Glennica had read about, which was supposed to have some very strange, outlandish features. When we actually got there, it turned out the price of admission included the Lace Museum (Brugge is known for lace- the souvenir sticker we got from there has an old lady making lace), so we took a look at that first.
