Our second day in Belgium, we hopped on an early train and met our friend Bram, who had already boarded the same train in nearby Leuven. The three of us took the short trip to Bruges, a town so watery it's known as "The Venice of the North."

... down to the local Water Garden, but Brendan continued to feel worse. Eventually we headed back to the hostel and Brendan ended up seeping for the rest of the afternoon. Aching muscles, sore stomach, fevers, the works, and it came hard and fast. We had intended to stay for five nights but only ended up staying three as the weather was poor. The next day it rained and we still needed rest after the long drive from Cologne so we stayed around the campsite that day.
