    ... back into Ronaldo and "Wove" our way back to Panicale .We drove through the Sibillini mountains , with lots of tunnels cutting through the mountain range and many hairpin turns. Noel (aka Fangio) was loving it . We passed through some towns that were familiar - San Pelligrino ( the bottled water source !!) and Norcia ( from where our New Norcia monks originated ). Great drive , lush and green with groves of cypress ( pencil pines ), olives and vines - just gorgeous ...

    ... too narrow for cars. We take the stairway for a quick look around the town, and, of course, a trip to a supermercato. Fruit and veggies are not self serve, and we have to wait a while for help.The cashier is clearly annoyed that I have no change, and burdens me with a huge pile of coins in my change.     Today we ventured further afield to visit Ascoli Piceno, and explore the old town.
