... I convinced J that a walk would be most enjoyable so after a hearty breakfast at the Paradore (after originally entering the breakfast area seeking but a coffee), we sought some stilted guidance from the Spanish speaking staff member at reception and off we headed (I find it funny that sometimes people are so embarrassed almost at thri limited Spanish when it should be we, as visitors to their country who, should be more conversant in the local lingo). ... warmed to at least 31 C on the Col de Mente. The scenery is spectacular. Much of the time we are high up with unrestricted views. The roads are in pretty good shape and they go up hill and down hill and up hill ……. You get my drift.
Yesterday we set out from Font Romeu with a long descent down beautiful twisting roads in the cold of early morning followed by a couple of short climbs and then the Col de Port de Pailheres. A long steep climb that ...

Andorra has more mountainous S-bends per km of road than anywhere in the world, I am sure, and we traversed most of them today! ... down a track. While we missed the food in Spain, Andorra made for a pretty nice road trip.

School here doesn't start until September, so we have one more road trip planned this month--a trip to Galicia and the Basque country to visit our exchange student, Eider. Best part of all, Amani will be joining us!

    Hasta la proxima noticia.

... it would be to go up. So we did. With no idea what was up top we took the 10 Euro ride up thinking we could grab a coffee from the hotel and enjoy the vista. The ride up was spectacular: beautiful rocky outcrops, mountain and valley views from every angle from our cute yellow cable car. Once on top we were in for more of a surprise, this place wasn't just a hotel, it was a village, a village by the name of Montserrat and home to the Monestir de Monsterrat (monastery) and all ...
