    Anyway, feast your eyes on these beauties Meynell. Yum yum.
    We were given a quick lesson in how to shell them and then they were lovingly devoured with home-made mayonnaise and bread.

    ... br> The satnav said 5 miles to the hotel in the town centre. The road was perfectly straight and there was traffic as far as the eye could see moving at snail's pace. No choice but to tough it out.
    It was evident early doors that there were a lot of roundabouts. I had nothing better to do so I thought I would count them as far as the hotel.
    It took us 45 minutes to do 5 miles and there were 35 ******* roundabouts!!

    The street market was in full swing and dedicated fish market a sight to see. Meg was tempted at every turn but we couldn't buy anything. This was probably the best market we gave seen with autumn richness and cold sea catches; crabs, prawns, lobsters and shells all alive. To get some ...

    ... the bus back to town for a quick bite to eat before getting in the car and driving around the coast, it is rugged and beautiful, it reminded us of the New England coast with all white houses and grey slate roofs. Our American friends joined us for dinner where we had oysters, palourdes, steak, kidneys, lotte with prawns, strawberries in balsamic, souffle of caramel. All this with a Bordeaux merlot and a cab franc from Loire. Very happy ...

    We have three nights in a good B&B to explore the area. The old walled town has everything one needs, shops, shops, shops. We walked the ramparts and discovered that St Émilion was born here. Evening drinks and a cheap meal and early to bed. Lots to see ...
