Having left Brugge, we drove as far as we could into France using the Autoroutes where deemed neccessary. After a good few hours of driving and still 4 hours to our house, we stopped off for the night south of Tours. We rose relatively early, in yet more drizzle, to drive to our friends Paul & Karen for lunch before the last and final hour to home.

Opening the gates revealed our own version of the 'Lost Gardens of Heligan' which will no doubt take a ...

M Leblanc invited us back to his house to share un verre our deux with Mme Leblanc in a couple of hours time.

OMG - how would we get through a social situation that might last an hour or so? And how would poor M et Mme endure it?

It started well though, with ...

It's 9 pm and Rick is still outside, hacking away at the blackberry, and soon the sky will darken to pitch black and the stars will come out. What a sight.

And then, at 7 AM on the dot, the wretched bells from the church next door will frighten us out of ours wits and our sleep and it'll be time to glove- and wellie-up to do battle once again with the thorns and vines of Cristallin.
