A Little bit of North Africa

... largest and most spectacular, of Morocco. We headed north to Rabat, Fes, Meknes, Erfoud, Ouarzazate (where Hillary was visiting at the time), and Marrakesh. Fes and Marrakesh were probably our favorite cities. The old medina of Fes, with over 13,000 alleyways, was intriguing. We didn't get lost here because we opted on a guided tour (thank God!). One of my favorite sites was visiting the tannery although the smells were not ...

... carved in stone by their grieving families.

We enjoy one more buffet dinner tonight at our hotel before visiting the sidewalk cafes one last time to enjoy watching the nighttime crowds on the main avenue in front of the hotel. One other client and I check out of the hotel at midnight tonight, and head to the airport to catch our Lufthansa flight back to Frankfurt, departing at 2:30am!

First Week

... br>Turns out the airport is far from the city so no such luck. I did not make it through security fast enough to make my flight so I got to wait three more hours in the airport waiting to go to Tunis. The Air France flight was much better. But I guess if we had gone done the Mediterranean is a much smaller place to look for survivors ...

Yet another $2 travel adventure

... of the medina. The big difference here was that I had lost the Russians and Germans and gained some room to breathe. The mountains of goods had changed from camel shaped ashtrays to Armani shirts, Rolexes, piles of socks and every sort of cheap Chinese plastic houseware known to man. Something tells me that if Armani is in a North African souk rather than a North American Saks, chances are it's maybe going to fall apart after two washings ...
