... of rain, loud rumbles of thunder and bright flashes of lightening. Pretty scary when you are in a tent but once again it stood up to the elements and was still standing the next morning.
The following morning was a bit wet and overcast but we decided to head to Biscarosse beach and have a wander around the market stalls which was nice. We had a pasty and an ice cream on the beach and then headed back to the tent. As the day went on it was a lot clearer and warmer so ...

We had a nice opening ride today, about 110 km of flat country. While it was nice to cycle on the flat, it was a bit boring. A lot of it could have been in eastern Ontario with fields of corn and soy.
We did see mounded crops which I thought were asparagus, but apparently are some sort of fruit, the name of which I did not recognize.

I feel like this trip got started on the right foot while I was driving up Bank St after dropping of Fannie at the dog boarder and heading downtown to pick up Caroline when I found myself stopped at a red light right in front of Meat In The Middle. I'd heard a lot of good things about this sandwich shop so I pulled over and popped in for one of their smoked meat sandwiches and some coleslaw. Was not disappointed.
