      ... wife's family is from Wisconsin! Her dad is a Tico and he moved to Wisco when he was really little. He married a woman from Appleton and eventually the whole family moved back to Costa Rica. He was an awesome guide and a friend of our boss.       ... Aside from us and a woman from New Zealand, all of the other guests that night were French, 8 people, not all of whom were travelling together, quite a coincidence!       ... contrived, but something I was willing to put up with for a chance of seeing MOLTEN MAGMA!

      After a bit of discreet questioning however, I found out that although the volcano was live with streaming magma, that all quietened down about 2 years ago, and now it's more of a huge grey mound with NO MOLTEN MAGMA.
