    Another 300 miles into more mountainous countryside brings us to the hair raising mountain passes of the Verdon.     ... we would have liked more time to do a longer loop. The path goes through long tunnels in the rock - you definitely need a torch otherwise you won't get very far!

    On
    the way back to the campsite we did a great drive along the Route des Cretes - it's a circular route
    with fantastic views of the Gorge. Highly recommended.
