    ... and had a bit of lunch, chicken kebab that came with a side of chips that would have fed an army. Very delicious though. After having our fill and leaving half of the food behind it was time to walk off the calories. We headed to the highest point in Cannes to better view the city, certainly had the old blood pumping by the time we reached the top. Cannes reminds me very much of the Gold Coast in the 70's, lots of high rises but nothing like the GC ...

    Another 300 miles into more mountainous countryside brings us to the hair raising mountain passes of the Verdon.
