The first thing we saw when we got off the bus was a dog sledding team, I knew immediately that I would love it up there. The dogs were all so excited to get running and I was just holding myself back from going up and saying hi to all of them!

We called in the NZ new year at a bar on the slopes and watched a night torchlight ski run by the ESF ski instructors complete with fireworks. A cracker of a holiday really. Worth the hiccups.

... run we attempted. Unfortunately though, we nailed no black runs. Evidently we are not late bloomers destined for a belated Olympic birth in down hill, cross-country or parallel skiing. Nor are we ready to take on the fearless gun t hree year olds (Milo squad equivalents) but merely embarrass ourselves in front of them. Liz disembarking from the chairlift and sliding downhill screaming on her backside, a classy example.
