A visit to the Western side of Lake Como
... monastery at Peoni. Another very old chapel - 14 monks still living there. Beautifully set at the end of a narrow winding lakeside road. Wonderful gardens, a grotto replica of Lourdes and some more spectacular views of the lake from the side opposite to Carcente. Morning was cloudy and cool - about 4°. We went to breakfast at Muellers as it was Fides' birthday today. Great spread to start the day. Rang Omi and she also spoke with Fides and Andrea. She was pleased to hear we were having a great time with family.

Bellissimo Bellagio
... lake front to Menaggio where we call into the Post Office and thankfully Andrea uses her Italian to buy us some post packs to send some things back home. From here we catch a ferry across the lake to Bellagio which lies at the apex of where the lake splits in two directions.
